Why it's Important to Use Biodegradable Poop Bags

I'm a California girl, so I've always been surrounded by people who love organic & earth-friendly products.

Once I got my puppy, it didn't take long to quickly learn about how much people love using biodegradable poop bags.

I may not be able to solve all of the world's problems, but I can definitely take care of my pet's business. For that reason, I knew I would be buying eco-friendly poop bags so I can do what I can to save the Earth & be a conscious buyer.

I was a little surprised by how many biodegradable poop bags there are to choose from. Ultimately it's a great thing though because pet parents can make a conscious effort to reduce their carbon footprint.

When I started Noble Pets Products, I knew that our gloves HAD to be earth-friendly. It's part of my core.

I wanted to share a little info about why it's important to use biodegradable bags in case you don't know the background.

So, what does biodegradable mean?

Biodegradable means capable of being decomposed by bacteria or other living organisms, biodegraded or broken down especially into harmless products. In other words, biodegradable means that the bag will biodegrade after a short time and break down naturally instead of sitting in a landfill (for 500 years)

The biodegradable poop bags you choose should biodegrade within 6 months to half a year. When deciding which biodegradable poop bags is right for you, always read the biodegradability guidelines. If biodegradation guidelines aren't listed, ask the manufacturer or check out biodegradable poop bags reviews to get an idea of what other customers think.

Why is important to use biodegradable poop bags?

It is important to use biodegradable poop bags because they break down quickly so they don't do as much damage to the Earth. This is great because, ultimately, they help take care of the planet.

Every time we go for a walk and our dogs need to go potty, we usually find ourselves nonchalantly picking up the "evidence" with one of those plastic bags you get at the grocery store. While this may seem like an innocent enough solution, but it's actually doing more harm than good.

What happens to plastic bags that are not biodegradable?

The simple answer is that we throw them away and they go into a landfill.

The more complex answer is that they don't biodegrade, which means that they sit in landfills for years and years. In fact, it can take up to 1,000 years for a plastic bag to biodegrade. This means that every single plastic bag that has ever been used is still sitting in a landfill somewhere.

What can we do to help?

The best way to avoid contributing to this problem is to switch to biodegradable poop bags. These bags will biodegrade in a matter of months, as opposed to years, and they will not harm the environment. In fact, biodegradable bags break down just like paper, but the plastic that you get at your local grocer will sit in a landfill for about 500 years before it degrades.

Why choose Noble Pets Products' biodegradable bags?

Our bags are initially dark green-colored (we dye them blue, pink, or white) and they contain an EPI additive which helps them to break down, unlike traditional plastic bags. EPI is the developer of Totally Degradable Plastic Additive (TDPA) which is the technology used in our green-colored bags. EPI testing shows that TDPA allows the bags to break down as it reacts to variables such as heat, oxygen and agitation, is non-toxic and produces no harmful residue.

Choosing biodegradable poop bags is a great way to not only protect the environment, but also yourself and your loved ones from biodegraded plastic.

The Noble Pets Products Dog Gloves biodegrade quickly and naturally, unlike traditional plastic bags which take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade. By choosing our biodegradable poop bags, we can help reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and negatively impacts our environment.
